Home decor is such a wonderful thing we as a society have put so much emphasis on! It’s a perfect way to express your personality and add ambiance and character to your home! Amazon’s Prime Day Sale is my favorite way to find affordable and eye-catching home pieces.
I personally love a good neutral couch pillow! The ones I have chosen to link here are ones I would most certainly recommend for anyone looking for something cozy and not too distracting to add to your decor! These would be perfect on their own, or even to add another pop of color in with another pillow set of more vibrant colors! Like a navy, green, burgundy, or something that ties in your current home decor! Even a throw of sorts would work for a pop of color!
Another important touch to add to your home decor is a beautiful area rug. Not too busy, but not invisible either. A good neutral rug makes any living room or bedroom so much more inviting, and if the right size is chosen, can often make a space feel much larger and put together!
Practical Baskets I Use in My Home
A laundry basket with a lid is something I have found to be incredibly useful in my home. My husband is a blue-color man and often comes home with dirty, sweaty laundry that is better off sealed away for everyone involved. It’s also something I’ve found to be incredibly useful as a dog owner. I had no idea that dogs would eat underwear until my most recent dog began rummaging through our laundry basket and stealing my favorite underwear. So not only does it save me the trouble of hiding my underwear from her, but it also keeps Lucy safe and saves us from future vet trips.
While on the topic of laundry baskets, a simple rope basket like the one I have linked below is also a good basic storage basket! I used to use these for laundry until my underwear-eating dog came along, and now I simply use it for blanket storage next to the couch! Not only is it cute and makes my living room feel more put together, but it also encourages guests to grab a blanket if they want to get cozy on the couch!
Bed and Bath Items That Improved My Life
Something I never expected to improve my life so much is a memory foam mattress topper. I used to take pride in being able to sleep on hard mattresses until I realized how bad my quality of sleep actually was. I bought this exact mattress topper several years ago and I was SHOCKED at the drastic change in my sleep quality. It used to take me 2 hours to fall asleep, and now all I want to do is crawl into bed and sleep on my memory foam mattress, which I now can do within 20 minutes. I can honestly say I have never slept in a more comfortable bed than mine with this topper.
Another bed item that changed my life was getting a silk pillowcase. It’s so trendy, but I can honestly attest to it helping keep my skin clearer and doesn’t pull at my fine, sensitive hair. Cotton pillowcases are known to hold bacteria and rub at your hair as you sleep, so switching to silk has helped with erasing that issue.
I’m a huge organizer and something I have been so excited to get is shower caddy organizers to hold mine and my husband’s soaps etc. Not only does it help manage clutter around the edges of our tub, but it’s far more sanitary as well. It keeps buildup from happening around the bottles where product is pumped out and makes cleaning the shower SO much easier.

As the Prime Day sale approaches, I often like to browse random home items that I may use around the house, and these have been my favorite finds over the past few years!
Something I have used on countless occasions is my clothes steamer. I bring this anytime I go on vacation, am in a wedding where dresses may get wrinkled, or simply just need to steam something. I passionately hate ironing, so this has been my go-to lazy girl item that I use all of the time.
One thing that I have been shocked by is how EXPENSIVE dressers/entertainment centers are! This one is so beautiful and has plenty of color options at such a reasonable price. Even full price is so affordable in comparison to most dressers.
If you’re looking to splurge a bit more, consider a mini fridge! This little thing would be perfect for entertaining guests and keeping them hydrated throughout their visit to your home! Whether it be under an outdoor patio, perfect for keeping beverages cool for a barbecue, or inside where your guests can run over and grab one from the couch; this is an awesome investment. Secretly, I would hide this in room where no one else sees it and I would leave my dinner leftovers in it. Then maybe I won’t have to worry about anyone stealing my food from the fridge…!
Last but not least, I didn’t really know what category to put this in, but I’m obsessed with this portable neck fan. I went on a fishing trip recently where my father-in-law had one of these around his neck all day through the blazing summer heat, and to say I was JEALOUS is an understatement. I will be purchasing this ASAP because honestly, it’s so genius.
